Andy d’Albert

Since 2012, Andy has worked as a freelance Health and Safety Consultant and Trainer managing his own portfolio of clients, as well as training for RoSPA and Premier Partnerships.

Andy served as a police officer for 30 years in the West Midlands Police, retiring in 2012.

Throughout Andy’s Police career, Health and Safety has been at the forefront of everything he did and risk assessments in particular - dynamic risk assessments being a constant thought in his daily duties for himself, his colleagues and the public. For the last few years before retirement, Andy was a public order trainer at a regional training centre. His role was to train officers in all things related to disorder and conflict on a national and international level, having trained Vancouver officers and The Royal Canadian Mounted Police both at home and in Canada. 

Operational competency was key to Andy’s role so notable events on Andy’s CV are: The G8 Conference 2006 in Scotland; the visit of The Pope to Birmingham in 2010, EDL and UAF demonstrations and numerous football matches. He was also the Public Order Key Task Manager for the Party Conferences held in Birmingham in 2011 and 2012.

Andy has an Advanced Certificate in Education, a PGCE, and a Diploma in Education. He also holds A1 Assessors and IV Qualifications. 
Andy is a Technical Member of IOSH holding the NEBOSH National General Certificate.
